Leo Kasun Sampath Weligamage

Kasun Sampath Weligamge is an old boy of both Royal College, Panadura and Prince of Wales' College, Moratuwa. He completed his bachelor's degree at University of Colombo, Faculty of Science with a second class - upper division. Now, he is working at MAS Intimates PVT Ltd as a Technical Executive.

He practiced leadership qualities and gained experience since his early childhood. He was a senior prefect of his college and served as the head of the school Traffic Control Unit. Also, he was a very active member of school Senior Debating Team and secured his position several times as the best speaker of the school and zonal contests. Additionally, he served as the head prefect of Sri Pungnananda Dhamma School, Panadura and contributed to lots of community work in his village and close areas.

He is skilled in graphic designing and computer programming. Also, he has a good knowledge in electronics and he had done many innovations when he was schooling. As a hobby, he does stamp collecting and listening to music.

He was introduced to Leo Clubs Program as a charter member of Leo Club of Colombo Millennium by Leo Lion Malinda Ganewatte. He had just five months of experience in leoism when he was elected as the club president. The first quarter of his presidency was bit changeable with some membership drop and lack of experience regarding the Leo club administration. But, he was able to motivate existing club members and continue their service. The turning point of his career was the Leo Vivada project which was the first mega project in the club history and the first project conducted on behalf of Multiple District 306 by the club. Also, it was the first debating tournament organized by a Leo club in the history of leoism in Sri Lanka. Leo Vivada was a total success and it was the most awarded project conducted by a Leo club in leoistic year 2018/2019.

Just after Leo Vivada, he initiated another mega project called "Diabetes and Pediatric Cancer Awareness Week" with several other clubs in the Multiple District 306. That project was also a very successful one and was selected as the Best Project for Diabetes in all six Leo districts. This is a very rare incident in leoism. While conducting several innovative projects, he was able to improve the club membership count and strengthen the core of the club. At the end of the year, his leadership drove Leo Club of Colombo Millennium to the second place in the District Conference of Leo District 306 A1 owning more than thirty-five awards. All the members of his Executive Committee were recognized and awarded in the district conference.

In leoistic year 2019/2020, he initiated another remarkable project called "LeoTV". It was the biggest media related project conducted by the Leos in Sri Lanka by then.

Later, he became the Charter President of Lions Club of Colombo Young Professionals.
